MACE, Gladys - Putnam

Miss Gladys Irene Mace, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Mace, residing two miles north of Poland in the edge of Putnam County died at the Union Hospital at Terre Haute at an early hour this morning following an operation for appendicitis at the age of 20 years. The deceased was a teacher at the Reelsville public schools and was stricken Sunday with an attack of appendicitis.  She was taken to the Union Hospital at Terre Haute where an operation was performed Tuesday morning.  The deceased was a popular young woman and leaves many friends to regret her death.  She is survived by the parents, three brothers and two sisters: Herbert Mace of Terre Haute; Jule, William B; Merle and Ruth Pauline at home.  The remains were brought to Miller & Sons parlor here and taken to the home this afternoon.  The funeral services will be held at the Big Walnut Baptist Church south of Reelsville at 1:30 o’clock Friday afternoon.  Interment at Reelsville Cemetery. – kbz
